• Bait: Fresh bait is essential since Salmon / Kob / Kablejou are attracted by scent. Common options include chokka (squid), pilchards, or live bait. You can enhance its appeal by adding scent or flavor. Secure your bait with cottons or thread which prevent bait loss and ensure scent travels.

• Geelbek (Cape Salmon) | Minimum size: 60 cm / Bag limit: 2 per person per day 
• Kob (Dusky, Silver, and Squaretail)
  • Fishing from shore and in estuaries (East of Cape Agulhas) | Minimum size: 60 cm / Bag limit: 1 per person per day
  • Fishing from shore and in estuaries (West of Cape Agulhas) | Minimum size: 50 cm Bag limit: 5 per person per day
  • Fishing from a boat (anywhere offshore) | Minimum size: 40 cm (KZN) or 50 cm (EC & WC) /| Bag limit: 5 per person per day
• Overall restriction for all Kob: Only one kob greater than 110 cm may be caught per person per day
