Their main purpose is to securely anchor bait in a specific "strike zone". A standout feature is the added flexible nylon prongs. They offer robust holding power while minimising snags.

Grapnel Nylon Double Sinker Mould Purpose and Function

• Anchoring Power: The prongs, or "claws," of the grapnel sinker effectively dig into the sand or sediment on the seafloor, anchoring your line and bait in a fixed position, even amidst strong water movement.
• Minimising Snags in Rocks: The flexibility of the nylon prongs surpasses that of steel wires. If your sinker becomes wedged in a rocky crevice, steady pressure on the line allows the prongs to bend. This releases your sinker and reducing the risk of losing your line and tackle.
• Effective Bait Presentation: By keeping your bait stationary in the current, your sinker remains in the desired fishing zone, rather than being swept away by tides or currents.
• Detection of Bites: When your ait is anchored, a fish taking the bait will tug on the line, providing a clear signal of a bite at the rod tip. This is particularly effective with a running sinker rig, where your line can slide freely through the sinker.
