Use our Mixed Scratching Fishing Trace to target edible fish in rough, shallow reef areas. and gullies

This Trace features three assorted hook sizes over the various Traces inluded. This allows you to to attract multiple fish all at once. Always right-size your bait to the size of hook you are using.

Mixed Scratching Fishing Trace Rigging and Tips:

• Sinker: Use a 2-6 oz sinker attached with a weaker line to avoid losing the entire rig if snagged.
• Attractors: Add floating beads or small floats to enhance visibility, if desired.
• Bait and Technique:
  
  • Focus on white, active water near rocky outcrops and sandbanks.
  • Effective options include prawns, chokka, red bait, white mussels, and crayfish.
  • Use small pieces ensuring the hook point is visible; experiment with combinations. Use bait thread to secure.
• Casting: Let the sinker anchor the bait near the bottom to attract fish.

Target Species:

This method is effective for Bronze bream, Galjoen, and juvenile White Musselcracker. Some by-catches have included Sand Sharks and Grunter, Pompano, Shad, Steenbras, Rock Cod and Salmon.
